Robyn Conen

I provide a nurturing and caring environment where the children form a close bond with me and I aim to make everyday fun while learning. We have lots of outings and lots of laughter. I believe we have to enjoy every day and I will support the children to learn values they can keep forever. I love to see children develop and grow and I feel children should be able to explore their surroundings with freedom and opportunity within a safe and secure environment.

Suz McVicar

Hi, my name is Suz and I have been a Home Educator for 8 years. I love the opportunity I have to provide a home based programme for children and to be able to use my Early Childhood Qualification (Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Early Childhood Option) and ideas in my home environment. My service offers children a variety of indoor/outdoor opportunities in a rural environment close to town. The outdoor area is well fenced, a fun backyard to explore and have fun with, a trampoline, swings and a sand pit along with a number of other pieces of outdoor equipment. Inside there is a spacious room with a variety of areas set up and we regularly attend community activities such as playgroup, music, the library, parks. This gives the children opportunities to make and develop friendships and interact with other children as well as learn new skills and challenges.

Melissa Gooch

I love being a Home Educator and believe that my home is a home away from home for the children in my care. I provide an environment where children have a sense of belonging and feel they have a place. I believe our children are our future and what they learn when they are young will help them be confident, resilient, strong and well-adjusted adults. I respect children’s personal identities and are passionate about inclusion of different ethnicities, cultures, religions and individual needs. I work in partnership with families to meet their needs, desires and aspirations for their child. I am honest, respectful, loving and adapt my teaching to accommodate children with all needs. I feel by role modelling, spontaneous interactions and experiences this will encourage strong peer relationships where they can play with and alongside others. During our week we have regular visits to the Library, walks, outdoor adventures, music and go to a playgroup on a Wednesday. We do activities around the home including cooking, baking, art and plan monthly around the children’s interests.
